About Ingrid Nurse
I'm Ingrid Nurse, and Cabarrus County isn't just where I'm running for office, it's where I was born, where I was raised, and where I've served for over 50 years.
I've watched this county transform. I remember when we knew our neighbors by name, when traffic wasn't a daily headache, and when a teacher or factory worker could afford to buy a home and raise a family here. I've seen the good that growth has brought, and I've also seen what happens when growth isn't managed responsibly.
For more than five decades, I've worked to make Cabarrus County better. I've taught at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, helping students gain the skills for good careers. I've worked with Rehabilitation Services, walking alongside people rebuilding their lives. I've served on the Planning & Zoning Commission, making hard choices about how we grow. I've fought hunger through the Cabarrus County Hunger Task Force. And I've represented our values as a delegate to political conventions.
My education from Winston-Salem State University, Barber-Scotia College, and Strayer College gave me the tools. But 50+ years in this community gave me the wisdom to know what matters: affordable homes, low taxes, good jobs, healthcare you can access, and safe neighborhoods.
I'm not a newcomer with big promises. I'm your neighbor with a proven track record. I know what Cabarrus County was, what it is, and what it can be, if we have the right leadership.
I'm Ingrid Nurse. Cabarrus County native. 50+ years of service. Ready to lead.
